Canadian Things • Choses canadiennes The Canadian Tire Guy (TCTG) If you’ve ever watched TV in Canada, you know The Canadian Tire Guy. He’s the fellow who’s always ready to help his neighbours, always eager to show them (and us) the newest gizmo or gadget from that Mecca of do-it-yourselfers, Canadian Tire. Top 10 Reason Not to Hate The Canadian Tire Guy You know him better than your real neighbours. He’s always willing to clean your driveway, fix your bike, inflate your raft, etc. He puts up with that wife of his. Hasn’t he suffered enough? Two words. Robo-grip pliers. Admit it. You think the beard is sexy. Everyone else hates him. Be a free thinker. Americans have no idea who he is. He represented the last Canadian retailer that is actually owned by Canadians. He’s just trying to help! Hey, everyone needs a little love. - The Canadian Tire Guy Fan Club Sadly, TCTG is no longer with us as Canadian Tire cancelled that ad campaign in 2005. I actually kind of miss him.
